Driving Gloves

These gloves are a useful pattern to have in your stash when the holidays roll around. The guys you know will appreciate these fingerless gloves very much; they keep the hands warm while allowing for some practical movement, such as texting, driving, or typing. Whip up a pair for your favorite guy today!

Materials:

One skein of Vanna's Choice in Taupe Mist
Set of 4 double point needles (size 4, 6mm)
Yarn Needle

Pattern Stitches:

Stockinette Stitch (St st): Knit continuously in the round while using double point needles.
Knit 3 Purl 3 Rib: Knit 3 stitches, purl 3 stitches, repeat around.

Gloves:

1.) CO 30 stitches on one double point needle. Work K 3 P 3 Rib across, divide stitches onto three double point needles. Join into a round, working K 3 P 3 rib for 6 rows total. The beginning of the round is marked by the yarn tail when you cast on at the start.
2.) Knit in St st for 12 rounds
3.) Knit 13th round, turn without joining into the next round.
4.) Purl one row, turn, knit one row. Repeat until you have 8 rows, ending in a knit row. Continue into round instead of turning.
5.) Knit 3 rounds.
6.) K 3 P 3 Rib for 6 rounds.

BO, knitting the knits and purling the purls for best results.

This pattern is for everyone, but it is particularly well-suited for guys. Be sure to knit them up in a heathery gray or a homespun neutral to make a tasteful gift for your guys!
