Satin Bow Tutorial

Would you like to learn how to make a bow? Here's an easy tutorial you can follow!

You will need:
1 length of satin ribbon, at least 24" long
Glue gun
Scissors
Bobby pins

First, cut a 9.5" length of ribbon.

Fold both ends to the middle, overlapping them, and glue in place.

Next, cut an 8" length of ribbon for the tails. Snip the ends as shown for added flair!

Fold this length in half at an angle and glue in place, as shown:

Glue this piece to the bow.

This next step is a little more involved. Cut a 6" length of ribbon, then cut off 1/4" of the ribbon width to narrow the ribbon. Glue one end to the back of the bow, and wrap the ribbon around the middle until you have no ribbon left. Glue the end to the back of the ribbon and snip off the excess.

And you're done! Bobby-pin the bow to the bottom of your bun, the top of your head, the lapel of your shirt - anywhere and everywhere! I'm sorry for the weird angle - I've been trying to master the awkward taking-a-picture-of-the-back-of-your-own-head technique for years.

Isn't it cute? Now go make your own! Enjoy!

P.S. If you are interested in knowing how I did my hair, it's a variation on the Upside-Down Braided Bun. My hair is too short for a real bun, but I was able to do a fake little knob.
