Basic Sweet Crepes Recipe

I love crepes.

So. Much.

Especially the variety of fillings you can slip between their soft layers. Brown sugar, butter, jelly, Nutella, peanut butter, fruit, honey, maple syrup, chocolate chips...the list is endless.

I made a crepe 'cake' tonight. If you would like to make one too, sometime, here's how I did it!

Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup white sugar
Pinch of salt
1 egg
1 1/4 cups milk

Crepes:
Combine dry ingredients in a bowl. Add egg and milk and beat until frothy and smooth.
Spray a nonstick skillet and heat over medium heat. Pour the desired amount of crepe batter in the pan.

My little sister gave me a hand with these. She is definitely the crepe expert of the family! Now pick up the pan like my sister did and rotate your wrist so that the batter coats the bottom of the pan evenly.

Stack your crepes on a plate. I like to put whatever filling I'm using between crepes as I go. In this recipe, sprinkle your desired chocolate chips on the crepes. As you stack, flatten the pile with your flipper to melt and spread the chips.

Mmmmmmm.

Oh look, another sister, waiting oh-so-patiently for the crepe cake to be finished.

And there you have it! Cut your crepe cake into slices and serve. Or eat the whole thing yourself - it's entirely up to you. Enjoy!
