Book Review: The Handmade Marketplace by Kari Chapin

This is one of my favorite creative business books. These days a book can become irrelevant almost as soon as it's published - the business world moves so fast! However, I just found out that a new edition of The Handmade Marketplace is being released! It'll be full of updates and fresh sources that work for today's online world. Hurray!

The Handmade Marketplace is a great book for both novice and advanced creative business owners. There are so many helpful tips, from branding and marketing and photography to inspiring stories from fellow crafters and info about the tough side of business (accounting, taxes, etc.). The layout is fun and easy to read, and it's a great resource. Kari Chapin draws from her own experiences as well, making it simple to relate. She even used fellow artists to help illustrate her book! I love that - it's a great example of the design community; we all work together to make something great that helps other people. This book is a great tool to help you start and maintain a creative business!
