Tiny Crochet Valentine Hearts Tutorial

These wonky little hearts are a breeze to make and add an adorable touch to a card or gift! I love their slightly off-kilter look.

I made them using Aunt Lydia's Classic Crochet Size 10 thread, and a 1.5mm steel crochet hook. The directions are written without abbreviations, and there are even a few photos to help you out! I promise they're really easy.

Start by chaining 6.

Single crochet in the 2nd chain from hook. Half-double-crochet in next 2 chains, and double crochet in next chain.Work 5 double crochets in last chain.

Slip stitch in same chain, work 5 double crochets in same chain. Turn chain so you're working on opposite side. Skip next chain, half double crochet in next 2 chains, single crochet in last chain. Slip stitch to first single crochet to join, and fasten off.

There! If you want these to be cute little balloons to adorn a card or gift, leave the end tail and weave in the beginning tail. If not, weave in all ends. Make dozens of these to scatter about like confetti, or just one to slip inside a tiny gift box. Who doesn't love a little handmade touch of love?
